Webinar Recording: The National Physical Activity Plan: How Cities, Towns and Counties Can Take Action To Increase Physical Activity
This webinar was held on June 19, 2014 and covered how your community can take action to increase physical activity using the National Physical Activity Plan, a comprehensive set of policies, programs and initiatives that aim to increase physical activity in all segments of the American population. The Plan aims to create a national culture that supports physically active lifestyles to improve health, prevent disease and disability and enhance quality of life.
This webinar discussed the plan’s recommendations for the parks and recreation sector, public health agencies, and local governments. Attendees gained a greater understanding of the effects that transportation systems, development patterns, and community design can have on physical activity.
