New Healthy Vending Resources
Two new resources are available from the Public Health Law Center to support policy, systems, and environmental change towards healthier food and beverage policies.
The first document, From Small Steps to Big Leaps: Promoting Healthy Food & Beverage Choices in Parks & Recreation Facilities, is specifically designed for use by park and recreation departments and public health staff and advocates working with these departments to implement healthy food vending or concessions policies or systems change. The second document, Key Components of Food Procurement & Vending Policies: Drafting an Effective Policy, is a more general publication designed for a variety of audiences–essentially, just about any department, organization, or worksite that is interested in developing and implementing a healthy vending and/or food procurement policy. The document outlines the key components of a food vending or procurement policy and identifies resources to help government and private organizations develop and implement these policies for their buildings and facilities.
