Playful City USA is a national recognition program that honors cities and towns investing in children through play. Recognized communities make a commitment to play by developing tailored action plans that increase access to play throughout their local neighborhoods. As a result, some of the most innovative programs and policies have been developed in Playful City USA communities. Apply to have your city or town designated and become part of a national network of government, nonprofit, and community leaders working to increase play opportunities across the country to give kids the childhood they deserve. Note: The Playful City USA recognition program aligns closely with Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties Goal V: Active Kids at Play. If you’ve achieved a gold medal in Goal V, you may be well on your way to meeting the Playful City USA criteria.
