Apply for the 2014 All-America City Awards!
The National Civic League (NCL) invites you to apply for America’s oldest and most prestigious community recognition award, given to ten communities each year for outstanding civic accomplishments. The 2014 All-America City Awards will spotlight healthy communities!
NCL invites applications from communities that are playing a leadership role in making their communities healthier by addressing obesity, health equity, disease prevention and health promotion, health access, healthy eating, sustainability, regional transportation and other issues. Applicants may be neighborhoods, towns, cities, counties, or regions. Twenty applicants will be named finalists and invited to present their challenges and best practices to a national jury in June 2014 in Denver. Each applicant is asked to describe three community projects to address local challenges with one focusing on healthy efforts.
Deadlines:
- September 2013-Feb 2014 –monthly conference calls to discuss the application and to feature All-America City leaders talking about how they approached the application, raised funds, engaged the community, presented to the jury, and leveraged the AAC designation.
- November 15, 2013–Submit a letter of intent
- March 18, 2014–Applications are due.
