WEBINAR: LMCTC Webinar Goal IV: Model Food Service
This webinar was held on March 27, 2013 from 3:00-4:00 PM Eastern and demonstrated how local elected officials through Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties (LMCTC) can improve access to healthy, affordable foods by implementing healthy and sustainable food service guidelines that are aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans at municipally- or county-owned or operated venues that serve food. Attendees learned how to identify these venues, and heard from an LMCTC site about their process for developing and implementing a policy for healthy and sustainable food service guidelines.
Speakers included:
- Joel Kimmons, PhD, Nutrition Scientist and Epidemiologist, Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- Jennifer Herd, MHLP, Senior Health Policy Analyst, Chicago Department of Public Health
- Tracy Wiedt, MPH, Project Manager, Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties, National League of Cities
