NLC launched new features on the www.HealthyCommunitiesHealthyFuture.org website. These features are designed to promote the great work local elected officials in cities, towns, and counties are doing to address childhood obesity. NLC has also developed an interactive map to help users of the site more quickly locate the various sites committed to and acting upon the five goals.
Key features include:
- A user-friendly map that can be used to locate LMCTC sites and local elected officials committed to the five goals.
- A community profile designed for each local elected official to share the accomplishments he/she has made in addressing the five LMCTC goals and their next steps, which partners he/she is working with, and other information showcasing this work. Users also have the ability to compare two LMCTC sites to each other.
- A medal standings page, depicting local elected officials leading the way in LMCTC medal achievements. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are tied to specific benchmarks for the five goals, and local elected officials receive certificates once the information they submitted through our survey reflects a benchmark being met. Their progress will be reflected in the medal standings section.
